City of New Haven Declares Snow Parking Ban Ahead of Blizzard

MEDIA ALERT:  Park New Haven Makes Garages Available to Residents During Storm

NEW HAVEN, Conn. — (January 26, 2015) — Park New Haven, which maintains and manages over 8,000 public parking spots across 7 garages and numerous surface facilities in Downtown New Haven, is working together with the City of New Haven to assist city residents during the upcoming Blizzard Juno.

The City of New Haven’s parking ban goes into effect at 6:00 PM tonight (Monday, 1/26) and will end Thursday (1/29) at 2:00 PM. On-street parking is banned downtown, and in neighborhoods city-wide, residents may park only on the even-numbered side of the street.

All city residents may park their cars for FREE during that time in public school lots, as well as at the Granite Square Garage at State Street (near Trumbull and Wall), starting at 5:00 PM today (Monday, 1/26). Residents may also park at the Temple Street Garage for $3.00 per day during the storm, beginning at 5:00 PM today.
